There are several reasons why the CRAFTsynth 2.0 device may not be connecting to the app:
First, confirm your USB cable supplies both power and data as not all USB cables provide both.
A USB A Male -> Micro USB B Male similar to this will work.
You need to be using MODALapp version 2.7.1 or above. Mac users running 10.13.6 or older should not update to 2.7.1. More information here on this.
- CRAFTapp will not work with CRAFTsynth 2.0.
- CRAFTsynth 2.0 will only connect to MODALapp via USB and not via MIDI-DIN.
Please check that you are using a working USB cable that is not power-only - test the cable with another USB device if possible.
On Windows, only a single application can connect to a class-compliant USB-MIDI device (such as CRAFTsynth 2.0) at any time - please check that CRAFTsynth 2.0 isn't connected to another application.
The panel controls and/or touchpads don't appear to be functioning as expected
There are several different latch-able 'states' that the panel and touchpads can be set to allow the encoders, buttons and touchpads to control alternative functions. If the panel and/or touchpad doesn't appear to be functioning as expected, please check the following things:
- If the SHIFT button LED is on, the panel is latched in 'shift mode' for accessing the secondary functions of the encoders and buttons (see the orange text on panel). Simply press the SHIFT button to unlatch this state and return to the regular state.
- If the Arp-Seq button LED is flashing, this indicates the Arp-Seq is on. The touchpads will now play whatever is programmed into the Arp-Seq. Press Arp-Seq again return to the normal state.
