Knob caps are fastened to the encoders via grub screws on the side of the caps. To tighten these you need a hex / Allan key of either size 1mm or 1.5mm (depending on the age of your unit).
However if the volume pot appears to be loose, as the volume pot is fastened to the panel via a nut you may need to remove the knob cap and fasten this nut.
