Every 001 has an Ethernet port for connecting the synth to the Internet for downloading updates, accessing the Web Interface and for performing remote support sessions. Go to the Settings->Network page to view your synths network settings.
Follow the below instructions if your 001 is struggling to get a network / Internet connection or a valid IP Address, or if not recognising that there is an available update:
- Power off your synth
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your local network router to your synth
- Power back on your synth
- Once the synth is fully booted, check that the LEDs on the Ethernet port on the synth (found on the top corners of the port) are illuminated or flashing. If not, please check your routers/network Internet connection.
- Go to the Settings->Network page and ensure that IP Mode is set to DHCP Mode.
- If the IP Address field is displaying 'PRESS APPLY', press number 7 to apply the network settings.
- If the IP Address field is displaying a valid IP Address (a number beginning with 192.168.) the synth should now be successfully connected to your network.
The easiest way to check that your synth is successfully connected to the Internet is to attempt to access the synths Web Interface ‘Cloud’ page. To do this, enter the synths IP Address into a browser on a computer / tablet on the same network, select Cloud from the top bar, and make sure that you can see a set of patch banks available to download.
Whilst we primarily recommend that you connect your synth directly to your local network router, it may be possible to instead connect it to your computer if your computer can be configured to share its Internet connection over Ethernet. For example - for macOS, see the 'Sharing wireless connection over Ethernet' from http://www.mactip.net/share-internet-connection-mac/, or for Windows see http://www.countrymilewifi.com/how-to-share-computers-wifi-with-ethernet-devices.aspx.
In rarer circumstances your 001 may not be able to make a connection to our servers due to your routers settings. If the above instructions do not work for you please try disabling your routers Firewall (and then rebooting your router) or try connecting to a different network or Internet connection.
